KIM Hyun-joo, WON Jin-ah and YANG Ik-june also Tapped for Netflix Original Series

YEON Sang-ho’s upcoming Netflix Original series Hellbound (working title) is starting to take shape. YOO Ah-in, PARK Jung-min, KIM Hyun-joo, WON Jin-ah and YANG Ik-june have been confirmed to be joining the main cast of the adaptation of the webcomic Hell.

Drawn from the pages of the webcomic by YEON and CHOI Gyu-seok, Hellbound will take place in a world where creatures suddenly appear and begin dragging people on earth to hell. YEON and CHOI are collaborating once more on the teleplays for the series, which is being produced by Lezhin Studios and will reportedly comprise six episodes. Director YEON recently realized the big-budget Peninsula, a sequel to his global hit TRAIN TO BUSAN from 2016.

YOO Ah-in, recently seen in the zombie hit #ALIVE and also known for Veteran (2015) and BURNING (2018), among others, will play Yoo, the leader of a new religion that is formed in the wake of the appearance of these mysterious creatures. PARK Jung-min, currently on screens in DELIVER US FROM EVIL and recently seen in SVAHA : THE SIXTH FINGER (2019), START-UP (2019) and Time to Hunt, will play a TV producer that begins to look into the new church leader. Meanwhile, veteran TV star KIM Hyun-joo, whose last feature film role was 2004’s Shin Suk-ki Blues, is on board to play a lawyer.

Alongside these three leads will be rising star WON Jin-ah, seen in last year’s hit financial thriller Money, and veteran character actor YANG Ik-june (A Quiet Dream, 2016). KIM Do-yoon and LEE Re, seen in Peninsula, are also among the cast.
