Haenyao Driver Drama Completes Jeju Shoot
Shining Moment (translated title), the latest film from veteran production outfit Myung Films, wrapped production on Jeju Island on June 15, which began in early May. The film, which focuses on the island’s famed Haenyeo divers, stars KO Doo-shim and JI Hyun-woo and is the feature film debut of short film director SO Joon-moon.
The story follows Jin-ok (KO Doo-shim), Jeju’s best Haenyeo diver, who earns her living picking seafood from the seabed every day, and the documentary producer Kyung-hoon (JI Hyun-woo), who visits the island to document her story.
KO Doo-shim, a Jeju Island native, has enjoyed a long screen career which has seen her act across the big and small and high and low budget projects. Her recent credits include the comedy START-UP (2019) and last summer’s hit disaster action-comedy EXIT.
JI Hyun-woo has been active on both the big and small screen for the past decade and half. Hi films credits include the romcom Old Miss Diary (2006), the music drama Mr. Idol (2011) and the black comedy-thriller TRUE FICTION (2018).
