Formerly a successful stage actor, KIM Moo-yeol, a Sungkyungwan University graduate, later switched his focus to screen acting. His first major film role came in 2009’s <The Scam>, followed by small roles in <Finding Mr. Destiny> from 2010 and <Romantic Heaven> in 2011. Later that same year he appeared in the phenomenally successful <War of the Arrows> in a major part, cementing his status as an up and coming actor. In 2012 he appeared in the sci-fi omnibus <Doomsday Book>, had a impressive role in the well-regarded <Eungyo> and starred in his first leading role for the low-budget <All Bark, No Bite>. Following some controversy after postponing his military service, KIM enlisted in October 2012 for his mandatory 21-month army stint. GIM’s first role after being discharged from his service was, appropriately enough, as one of the leads of the naval war drama <Northern Limit Line>. An account of North Korean ambush attack in 2002, it became a surprise success in the summer of 2015.
