Online box office sells out via Fnac Website!
It took only three days for tickets to the 7th Korean Film Festival in Paris (Festival du Film Coréen à Paris, FFCP) to sell out through their on-line booking service website (
www.fnacspectacles.com). Subsequently, more tickets have been released to keep up with the demand from French Korean cinema fans. Expectations are high as the start of the festival approaches.
In July of last year, the local Parisian government officially decided to support the FFCP for the promotion of culture and encouragement of multi-culturalism. This means the city of Paris approved the festival as a cultural event of the city rather than just a standalone foreign cultural event. The local government will continue supporting the festival this year. It has become clear that French cinephile's passion for Korean film has reached the government.
The FFCP, held at Cinéma Saint-André des Arts located in division 6 from October 30th (Tue) to Novermber 6th (Tue), is run by Association 1886 and supported by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korean Film Council and the Korean Film Archive.
The festival will not merely introduce proven popular films and prize winners from other film festivals. Instead, they have prepared a unique program, which includies sections where films of each programmer’s choice will be presented. This edition of the festival will be an opportunity for many film fans in France to discover Korean films.
15 contemporary Korean films covering a broad spectrum are in the line-up for the ‘Paysage’ section. The ‘Portrait’ section, which focuses on a promising Korean film director, will introduce feature and short films of
KIM Kyung-mook. The ‘Shortcuts’ section is a competition section for short films, where 15 Korean short will be screened. Audiences of the ‘Avant-premieres’ section will have a chance to meet soon to be released films like
The Taste of Money and
War of the Arrows prior to their official French premieres. Including the works in the sections listed above, a total of 48 Korean films are going to be shown in Paris, France.
Further details and lists of programs are available at the official website of the festival (
www.ffcp-cinema.com).
