JUNG Hae-in and SON Suk-ku in Talks for 6-Part Series
Coin Locker Girl (2015) director HAN Jun-hui has partnered with global streaming service Netflix to make D.P., a six-part series that will be adapted from the hit webtoon ‘D.P. - Day of the Dog’ (translated title) by KIM Bo-tong. Actors JUNG Hae-in and SON Suk-ku are in talks to appear in the series.
The show will follow the story of Jun-ho, a soldier in the South Korean army who is assigned to a unit that tracks down and arrest army deserters. The title ‘D.P.’ stands for Deserter Pursuit, the name of the army unit that chases down AWOL soldiers. The original webtoon was a major success with over ten million views.
JUNG Hae-in, who is considering the part of Jun-ho, is active on both the big and small screen and his recent film credits include the romantic drama Tune in for Love (2019) and the comedy START-UP (2019).
SON Suk-ku got his big break in a prior Netflix series after scoring a part on the second season the Wachowskis show Sense8 alongside BAE Doo-na. He has also worked with Director HAN before, as one of the supporting actors in Hit-and-Run Squad(2019).
Lezhin Studios is producing the series which will be made available through Netflix in 190 territories. Lezhin is also working with Netflix on the YEON Sang-ho series Hellbound (working title), which is currently in development.
