SUNG Dong-il Board Thriller from HARMONY Director

Actress HA Ji-won is mulling a return to the big screen with the project Collateral (translated title), JK Film which will mark the sophomore work of director KANG Dae-gyu. The male lead will be played by veteran character actor SUNG Dong-il.

Collateral will follow a man with a loose moral code who will do anything for a pay day and becomes close with a child who gets taken hostage.

Top star HA Ji-won has led Korean classics such as LEE Myung-se’s The Duelist (2005) and JK YOUN’s Haeundae (2009), not to mention hit TV series such as Secret Garden, but has been quieter in recent years, save for a supporting role in John WOO’s most recent action-drama Manhunt, which was a gala film at the Busan International Film Festival in 2017.

A star of dozens of major Korean films, SUNG Dong-il is known for 200 Pounds Beauty (2006), Take Off (2009), Miss Granny (2014) and more recently the Accidental Detective films.

Director KANG previously helmed the hit women’s prison drama Harmony in 2010 and more recently has worked on scripts for hits such as The Himalayas (2015) and Confidential Assignment (2017).

JK Film is known as one of the most successful production companies in the business, responsible for Haeundae (2009), Ode to My Father (2014) and many others.
