The enduring Whispering Corridors franchise, which launched the K-horror craze all the way back in 1998, returns with its sixth installment this month. WHISPERING CORRIDORS 6: THE HUMMING (2020) premiered last summer as the opening film of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BiFan). The film is the directorial debut of Lee Miyoung, who is known for producing titles such as Park Chanwook’s early film Trio (1997) and The Truth Beneath (2016), as well as The Voice (2005), the fourth film in the Whispering Corridors franchise. 

Leading the film is Kim Seohyung as Eunhee, a teacher who returns to work at a school she attended as a child, where she assumes the post of vice-principal. She blocked out her memories of her past at the school long ago, but upon returning, strange things soon begin to transpire. Kim previously appeared in The Voice as a different character. She is known for The Villainess (2017), and the hit series SKY Castle and is currently on air in the tvN drama Mine.

Also at the school is student Hayoung (Kim Hyunsoo), who is the victim of bullying and one day happens to hear the sound of a ghost in a closed-off bathroom. Kim Hyunsoo appeared in the period action film The Swordsman (2020) and is currently reposing her role in the third season of the hugely popular drama series The Penthouse.
