KANG Jin-a, born in 1986, was among the first film graduates of Konkuk University. Starting with <Too Bitter to Love> in 2008, she has played in a large number of short films, to the point where she is the first to admit she has already given up keeping count. She landed her first major roles in KIM Byung-woo’s <The Terror, LIVE> (2013), and she followed it up with the KwangHwaMoon Cinema-produced <The Queen of Crime> (2016) and <Microhabitat> (2017). The latter particularly earned her a lot of notice as she interpretated an overworked office employee who resorts to IV injections to keep going. She was then cast as the lead of the indie drama <To My River> (2018), the debut feature of PARK Kun-young, and was named best newcomer by the Busan Film Critics Association. This didn’t mean the end of her participation in short films, as she next starred in the short film <Mother, Flower> (2019), the Grand Prize-winner at the Seoul International Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival, and in 2020 alone, she filmed six shorts.
