He was greatly admired and his popularity soared following his endearing performances in the dramas <Painter of Wind> and <Brilliant Legacy>. He gained even more exposure from the movies <Goodbye Mom> in which he was a playboy, <Fly High> where he played an attractive former host, and in the drama <Temptation of an Angel> where he and HAN Sang-jin played the same character. In 2012, BAE took the lead in <Mai Ratima>, the well-received directorial debut of actor YOO Ji-tae. He also appeared in the surprise year-end hit <26 Years>. His next big project was a supporting part in the period blockbuster <Memories of the Sword> with JEON Do-yeon and LEE Byung-hun.
