Born in 1987, KIM Si-eun studied dramatics at Sangmyung University, but she took a 2-year break after her sophomore year to make her debuts on stage in Daehangno, Seoul’s theater district. After graduation, she worked at an IT company for 2 years so that she could afford acting lessons. She first played in the indie feature <Su saek>, for which she was nominated for Best New Actress and Best Actress at the Baeksang Arts Awards. However, since that title only released several years later in 2015, it was with a bit role in <KUNDO : Age of the Rampant> (2013), released in 2014, that she could first be seen on the big screen. After a reunion with HA Jung-woo in <Chronicle of a Blood Merchant> (2014), KIM was a news anchor in <A Violent Prosecutor> (2015), a servant in <The Handmaiden> (2016) and Detective Kang’s Wife in <1987: When the Day Comes> (2017). Although she landed a role in the occult action film <The Divine Fury> (2018), she has remained mainly active on the indie scene, with participations in the anthology <Cinema with You> (2017), the feature <Land of Happiness> (2018), and she recently starred in the drama film <Black Light> (2020).
