KARM Woo-sung gained popularity for his gentle, intellectual image. In contrast to many of his ilk, he did not rush to enter the film sector. After long deliberation, he selected <Marriage Is a Crazy Thing>. He received favorable responses by playing a secrete lover of a woman ([UHM Jung-hwa]) who has a self-centered view of marriage and carved out a greater presence in the film arena. He portrayed a producer who went out on assignment to haunted woods in a mystery thriller, <Spider Forest> directed by [SONG Il-gon] and a post-traumatic Vietnam veteran in <R-Point>, a bizarre horror movie on the specter of the Vietnam War. He erased his image as a sweet heart with two thrillers and then took a new shot at a comedy, <A Bold Family> portraying a family that struggled to fake Korea’s reunification to fulfill an ailing father’s wish. After KARM unleashed his hidden potential as a comedy actor, he has delivered colorful acts, not limited to a single genre. Although his TV appearance is still limited to melodramas such as <Alone In Love>, he takes on more diverse personas on silver screen.
