IGNITION Wraps Production with Don LEE and PARK Jung-min

JUNG Hae-in and YUM Jung-ah Co-Star in Sophomore Film from ONE WAY TRIP Director

After kicking off filming on March 8, Ignition (translated title) brought its production to a close on June 27. From director CHOI Jeong-yeol, the film brings together actors Don LEE (aka MA Dong-seok), PARK Jung-min, JUNG Hae-in and YUM Jung-ah.

Adapted from a webtoon penned by CHO Geum-san, Ignition features PARK and JUNG as Taek-il and Sang-pil, two wayward youths who live as they please as they face the real world and become adults. LEE plays Geo-seok, the chef at a Chinese restaurant that Taek-il comes to work at while YUM was cast as Taek-il’s mother. Taek-il is confronted with an unexpected situation and Sang-pil falls in with gangsters as he seeks out a way to earn money.

PARK was seen in the religious thriller SVAHA : THE SIXTH FINGER earlier this year and also recently appeared in Keys to the Heart (2018) and Psychokinesis (2018). He will next be seen in action-thriller sequel Tazza: One-Eyed Jacks, due for release in September during the Chuseok holidays.

LEE recently visited the Cannes Film Festival with the thriller The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil, which screened there in the midnight section. He has appeared in several hits recently, including TRAIN TO BUSAN (2016), THE OUTLAWS (2017) and Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days (2018).

Last seen in the period drama Heung-boo: The Revolutionist (2018), JUNG will next be on screen in the drama Tune in for Love, due for release in August. YUM Jung-ah hit a career high this year after appearing in the smash hit TV series Sky Castle, and the action-thriller Hit-and-Run Squad.

Ignition marks director CHOI’s second feature, following the indie One Way Trip, which debuted at the Busan International Film Festival in 2015. Next Entertainment World will handle distribution of his latest film.
