LIM Won-hee, KIM Won-hae and YOON Je-moon Join ASTRONOMY

HUR Jin-ho Returns with New Period Drama

LIM Won-hee, KIM Won-hae and YOON Je-moon have been added to the cast of Astronomy. The Joseon Era costume drama is the latest work from melodrama hitmaker HUR Jin-ho. The actors will join previously set leads CHOI Min-shik and HAN Suk-kyu in the film that will depict the relationship between King Sejong of the Joseon Dynasty and the astronomer JANG Yeong-sil.

Prolific character actor LIM Won-hee recently appeared in both Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds (2017) and Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days. He also starred in CHO Sung-kyu’s Passing Summer, which debuted earlier this month at the Busan International Film Festival

KIM Won-hae was last seen in the Lunar New Year title Heung-boo: The Revolutionist and had a role in RYOO Seung-wan’s The Battleship Island (2017) last summer. YOON’s recent credits include High Society, BONG Joon-ho’s Okja (2017) and KIM Sung-soo’s Asura : The City of Madness (2016).

Meanwhile, Astronomy will see CHOI Min-shik and HAN Suk-kyu reunite on the big screen, 20 years after starring together in Swiri (1999). They also featured together in No. 3 (1997).

HUR, known for classics such as Christmas in August (1998) and One Fine Spring Day (2001), last made the Japanese Occupation Era drama The Last Princess (2016), which became the most successful title in the director’s career, with 5.6 million viewers recorded.

Production on Astronomy is expected to begin soon, once casting has been completed.
