RIE Young-zin Summoned for THE JURORS

Court Drama with MOON So-ri and PARK Hyung-sik Currently in Session



RIE Young-zin has joined the production of The Jurors, the new trial drama from first time director HONG Seung-wan starring MOON So-ri and ZE:A member PARK Hyung-sik which kicked off filming on July 7.

The drama focuses on the true story of Korea’s first every trial by jury, which took place in 2008. MOON So-ri plays the judge presiding over the first Korean case in front of jury members while PARK Hyung-sik features as the jury’s youngest member and has to focus on the facts of the trial as it progresses, along with fellow jurists.

RIE’s previous film roles include a lead part in the indie drama Dear Dolphin (2013) and supporting parts in commercial works such as YOU CALL IT PASSION (2015) and SORI: Voice from the Heart (2016).

Known for her lead roles in masterworks by LEE Chang-dong (Oasis, 2002), Hong Sangsoo (Hahaha, 2010) and IM Sang-soo (A Good Lawyer’s Wife, 2003), among others, MOON was last seen in YIM Soon-rye’s successful youth drama, Little Forest. She also recently unveiled her feature directorial debut, the omnibus film The Running Actress (2017). Meanwhile, popular singer PARK makes his feature film leading debut in The Jurors after several successful roles on television.

The film marks the feature directing debut of Korea National University of Arts (K’Arts) graduate HONG, who has previously worked in the camera department for several commercial films over the years, from White Valentine (1999) and Public Enemy (2002), all the way to Return of the Mafia (2012).
