RAMPANT Set to Ravage Screens in October

Hyun-bin Period Zombie Action-Thriller to Be Released in Asia and Europe

The upcoming period action-thriller Rampant is now confirmed for an October release in Korea. Additionally, according to investor and distributor Next Entertainment World (NEW), this new collaboration following last year’s Confidential Assignment (2017) between director KIM Sung-hoon and star Hyun-bin will receive a simultaneous release across Asia and Europe. JANG Dong-gun co-stars in the film.

Rampant features Hyun-bin as Lee Chung, the Prince of the Joseon Dynasty, who returns to his kingdom ten years after having been taken hostage by the Qing Dynasty. Upon his return, he must assist his brother who sits on the throne to rid the land of a new scourge known as the ‘night demons’.

Hyun-bin has been on a string of hits since his return from military service, which includes period action-drama The Fatal Encounter (2014) and conman thriller The Swindlers (2017). He will also be back in theaters soon with the thriller The Negotiation alongside SON Ye-jin. Meanwhile, JANG Dong-gun was last seen in the North Korea-themed serial killer thriller V.I.P. (2017) and the revenge drama Seven Years of Night.

Director KIM’s North Korea-themed action-thriller Confidential Assignment was the top performing title of the busy Lunar New Year holiday period last year, winding up with 7.82 million viewers (USD 56.36 million).
