PERFECT STRANGERS Remake Begins Production

YOO Hae-jin, CHO Jin-woong and YUM Jung-ah Headline Italian Comedy Update



The Korean remake of the Italian comedy Perfect Strangers, featuring YOO Hae-jin, CHO Jin-woong and YUM Jung-ah, kicked off production on December 27th. From The Fatal Encounter (2014) director LEE Jae-kyoo, the film will be distributed by Lotte Entertainment, the company behind current the 10-million-viewer hit Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds.

Released in 2016 and directed by Paolo Genovese, Perfect Strangers follows a group of seven people who come together for a dinner party and start a game where they reveal the contents of their phones to each other.

YOO Hae-jin is coming off a big 2017, which saw him star in action-comedy Confidential Assignment and the political dramas A Taxi Driver and 1987: When the Day Comes, which is currently in theaters. Leading man of thriller Bluebeard, crime comedy The Sheriff in Town and period trial drama MAN OF WILL last year, CHO Jin-woong will be back on screens in 2018 in the action blockbusters Black Venus and Dokjeon. Last seen in the horror The Mimic, YUM Jung-ah has several other films on the way, with both the action film Bbaengban and the drama Mi-seong-nyeon scheduled to begin shooting in the first half of the year.

Also joining the cast of Perfect Strangers are LEE Seo-jin (Love Forecast, 2015), KIM Ji-soo (Gangnam Blues, 2015), YOON Kyung-ho (The Battleship Island, 2017) and SONG Ha-yoon (The Whistleblower, 2014).

Director LEE previously made the web-series The Influence (2010) with LEE Byung-hun. His period action film The Fatal Encounter, starring Hyun-bin, welcomed 3.85 million viewers (USD 28.08 million) in 2014.
