THE FAULTS IN OUR STARS Scribes Sell THE BEAUTY INSIDE Pitch in Hollywood

Emilia Clarke Boards Fox 2000, Temple Hill Remake

The US remake of Korean fantasy drama The Beauty Inside (2015) has found a home at Fox 2000 and Temple Hill, after they bought a pitch from The Faults in Out Stars screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. Emilia Clarke, one of the stars of the popular HBO series Game of Thrones, is attached to star in the role originally incarnated by HAN Hyo-joo.

Next Entertainment World’s The Beauty Inside was itself an adaptation of an earlier 2012 webseries of the same name directed by Drake Doremus and starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Topher Grace which was a social film commissioned by Intel and Toshiba.

The story concerns a man who wakes up in a different body every day and begins a relationship with a woman who disregards his changing appearance.

From debut director BAIK, the Korean The Beauty Inside was a late summer hit in 2015, drawing just over two million viewers (USD 14 million) to theaters. Alongside HAN Hyo-joo’s love interest, a series of major Korean actors incarnated the main role, including KIM Sang-ho, KIM Dae-myeong, YOO Yeon-seok, LEE Hyun-woo, BAE Sung-woo, LEE Beom-su and CHUN Woo-hee.

In addition to Fox 2000 and Temple Hill, Greg Chou of Rumble Entertainment, which owns the remake rights, is producing and Doris Pfardrescher of Well Go USA, the American distributor of the Korean original, is an executive producer.
