18th Asian Project Market Announces Lineup

New Works form YANG Ik-june, JEON Soo-il, LEESONG Hee-il
 
 
In the lead-up to the 20th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), Busan’s Asian Project Market (APM), which is set to stage its 18th edition, has revealed its 30-strong lineup for this October. Among Korean projects, notable directors such as YANG Ik-june (Breathless), JEON Soo-il (Pink), LEESONG Hee-il (Night Flight) and KIM Tae-yong (Set Me Free) will each take part with Gabsooni & Soo-ah, Photographer’s Boy, Swallow and Brother, respectively.
 
Among the 14 other countries represented this year, project participants include the Philippines’ Adolfo ALIX Jr. with Acetylene Love, Iran’s Hana MAKHMALBAF with London Stories, YU Lik Wai of Hong Kong with A Mean To An End, and Kanu BEHL’s Indian project Agra.
 
To date, APM has invited 442, 200 of which have seen the light of day as completed features and screened around the world, including LEE Chang-dong’s Poetry (2010), CHOI Dong-hoon’s The Thieves (2012) and BONG Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer (2013). This year’s edition will run over October 4th to 6th in Busan’s BEXCO Exhibition Center, while BIFF unspools from October 1st to 10th.
