Bae Doona Joins Zack Snyder’s REBEL MOON
Busy Korean Star Takes on New Hollywood Project

Korean star Bae Doona is returning to Hollywood after joining the main cast of the upcoming Zack Snyder-directed sci-fi film Rebel Moon for Netflix. Bae joins a cast that will also feature Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou and Ray Fisher.
The epic sci-fi, which is scheduled to begin production in April, takes place on a peaceful colony at the edge of the galaxy which is being threatened by the forces of a tyrannical regent known as Belisarius. The desperate colonists then send out a young woman with a mysterious past to round up warriors from neighboring planets in order to make a last stand.
Known for iconic roles in Korean films and TV dramas such as Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), The Host (2006), A Girl at My Door (2014) and the drama Stranger, Bae has already worked extensively overseas.
Her previous Hollywood forays include several projects for the Wachowskis, such as Cloud Atlas, Jupiter Ascending and the Netflix series Sense8, and she has also been active in Japan, starring in Linda Linda Linda and Koreeda Hirokazu’s Air Doll.
Bae recently starred in the Netflix series The Silent Sea and will soon be seen in Koreeda’s Korean film debut Baby, Box, Broker and opposite Kim Yunseok in the SF-drama Virus (working title). She is currently shooting the film Next Sohee (translated title) with A Girl at My Door director July Jung.
Director Snyder is known for popular Hollywood works such as 300 and Justice League.
