Lotte’s Fantasy Epic Garners Acclaim and Strong Ticket Sales in the Region

Lotte Entertainment’s Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds has been a monster hit in Korea, but the film has been performing remarkably well in other Asian countries as well.

Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds opened in Taiwan on December 22 and has gone on to top the box office for three consecutive weeks, becoming the most successful Asian film released in the market in 2017, as well as the highest grossing Korean film to ever screen there.

The fantasy epic is currently on a tour through Southeast Asia. The film placed second at the Vietnamese box office and third in Thailand and Indonesia, respectively. Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds was also released in Singapore, Malaysia, Laos and Cambodia on January 11 and is scheduled to be unveiled in Myanmar and the Philippines sometime in January.

Since being released December 20, Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds has been a critical and commercial success at the Korean box office, drawing more than 13 million viewers. Prior to its release the film made headlines when Lotte Entertainment pre-sold distribution rights to 90 countries after screening a 27-minute preview at the American Film Market (AFM) in Santa Monica in November. Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds was also pre-sold to 13 countries at the Asian Film Market, which took place during the 22nd Busan International Film Festival.
