Cross-Generational Comedy-Drama from CYRANO AGENCY Director

Veteran actress NA Moon-hee and young star LEE Je-hoon will join forces in a new cross-generational comedy-drama. From Cyrano Agency (2010) director KIM Hyun-seok, the film bears the phonetic English title I Can Speak.

NA Moon-hee will play a cantankerous elder woman who makes it her life’s work to nag and file endless complaints in the local community center, much to the chagrin of the junior civil servant played by LEE Je-hoon. Through an unexpected turn of events, the old woman begins taking English lessons with the young government employee.

Active for over half a century, NA is well known for countless roles across the big and small screen. Among her recent hits was 2014’s Lunar New Year smash Miss Granny. LEE has risen to stardom in recent years through films such as Architecture 101 (2012) and last year’s The Phantom Detective.

The film marks yet another new genre from prolific commercial film director KIM Hyun-seok, after scaling several genres such as sports drama (YMCA Baseball Team, 2002), romantic comedy (Cyrano Agency), science fiction (AM 11:00, 2013) and musical biopic (C’est Si Bon, 2015).

Filming is scheduled to begin at the end of this month and the project will be produced by Myung Films, one of the leading production companies in Korea, and Sisun Films.
