Even as summer winds down, the crowds are not abating at theaters and the latest film to win’s the public’s heart is the drama On Your Wedding Day, a rare romantic hit during a time when few break out in Korean theaters.

This vehicle for young stars PARK Bo-young (A Werewolf Boy, 2012) and KIM Young-kwang (Hot Young Bloods, 2014) tells the story a high school boy who falls for a new transfer student in his seaside town. Before the pair can get together the girl leaves for university in Seoul, which prompts the boy to apply himself at school and get into the same university. He succeeds, but his dream isn’t quite as close as he thought in this decade-long love story that spans from their high school days until the early stages of their adult careers.

Debut director LEE Seok-keun brings a warm and light touch to a comfortably familiar story with two engaging performances from PARK and KIM. On Your Wedding Day comes from the production company Filmmaker R & K and is produced by KANG Hae-jung, known for the films of RYOO Seung-wan, including Veteran (2015) and The Battleship Island (2017).
