The film A Birth depicts the brief but historic moments when young Kim Taegon was ‘born’ again as the first Catholic priest in the Joseon Dynasty in 1845. At the time when Joseon was entering the modern era, young Kim Taegon dreamed of a new Joseon Dynasty and practiced equality and philanthropy until he was martyred at the age of 25, and the film unfolds his life in the form of a historical adventure drama. Youth star Yoon Siyoon, who has been presenting bright and cheerful young characters, played young Kim Taegon, while Ahn Sungki, one of the Korean representative actors, played the leader who helped Kim Taegon, adding seriousness to the film. 

A Birth was planned and produced to commemorate St. Andrew Kim Taegon’s designation as a UNESCO World Monument in 2021. Although the film focused on a religious figure as the main character, it paid attention to Kim Taegon as a pioneer and global leader who dreamed of a new world. Director Park Heungsik said, "We need the spirit of young Kim Taegon in our era, " revealing the intention of producing the film. A Birth, which depicts the life of St. Andrew Kim Taegon, the first Catholic priest in Korea, premiered at the Vatican's New Synod Hall with the prelates of the Vatican.
