Tae-hwa, a clay shooter suffering from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, can only survive through a lung transplant. Just before his surgery, his father causes a car accident, abandons the body, and dies during the transplant procedure. Lost follows Tae-hwa as he struggles with guilt over his father's crime and sets out to find Mi-ji, the victim’s daughter. While the plot relies on some unlikely coincidences and occasionally overdrawn emotions, director Kang Dong-in skillfully unravels a complex drama of crime and punishment through the parallel stories of Tae-hwa and Mi-ji. Lostalso portrays a strong desire to liberate today’s youth from the burdens passed down by the previous generation. As seen in his previous short film Good Time, which was screened in the Korean Short Film Competition at the 21st Jeonju International Film Festival, Kang’s talent shines through his thriller-style visuals and emotionally rich characters. Lee Soo-hyuk and Ha Yoon-kyung portray Tae-hwa and Mi-ji, respectively. (Jeonju International Film Festival)
