The Korean Film Council (KOFIC, Chairperson Han Sang-jun) is conducting a "Demand Survey for 2027 Film Policy Research Projects" from September 18 to October 16 to identify research topics needed in the film industry and in the field of policy practice.

The survey has been organized to gain a broad understanding of the changing environment surrounding the film industry and the diverse policy needs arising from the field, and to translate these into research projects that can be applied to actual policy. Participation is open to anyone — including professionals and researchers working in the film industry, related organizations, associations and groups, and members of the general public with an interest in film policy and research.

Proposals may cover matters requiring policy review for the sustained development of the Korean film industry, tasks for institutional improvement, analyses of industry conditions and changes, and research topics needed for the formulation of future film policy. Submitted proposals will be reviewed as candidate policy research projects following internal review and consultation with the relevant departments.

"In order to create effective policies that respond to changes in the film industry, it is important that the voices of the field be faithfully reflected in our research projects," said Chairperson Han Sang-jun. "I hope that the various stakeholders with an interest in the film industry and its policies will actively propose the research topics they feel are needed on the ground."

The demand survey runs through October 16, with submissions accepted via an online survey form or by email. Detailed information on participation is available on the KOFIC website and other channels, and proposals may be submitted on any topic the participant considers worthy of research for the advancement of film policy.
