IDIOPLAN is a film production company established in 2011, under the name Eight Ball Pictures, by four friends who met while working on various films, screenwriter LEE Won-jae and producers PARK Sung-il, YOON Ki-ho, and LEE Sang-hyeon. After debuting with the sports drama <Pace Maker> (2011), the studio contributed to the debate on Samsung’s responsibility for the cancer developed by dozens of factory workers with <Another Family> (2013), which tells the story of one of the victims who died in 2007. Even though YOON had to resort to crowdfunding in order to cover the production costs, since most investors and distributors would rather avoid such a sensitive issue, the film was quite successful, with close to half a million admissions. In 2014, the company was renamed Idioplan and PARK and YOON became co-CEOs. The company made the headlines again when it released the courtroom drama <New Trial> (2016), about the real-life story of a man wrongfully condemned for murder, while the new trial of the case in question was still ongoing.Less
