The Cinematheque Friends Film Festival, which first started in 2006 as Cinematheque Friends of Cinema, is a film festival created by friends of the Seoul Cinematheque to support and secure the Cinematheque as a stable screening venue. To deliver old films to new audiences, these friends personally select films, providing opportunities for audiences to discover movies in theaters while watching and discussing them together.

Cinematheque Friends’ Recommendations
Every year, renowned filmmakers, writers, actors and journalists each submit one movie to be screened at the festival. Most of the screenings is introduced by the person who recommended it.
