The Seoul International Pride Film Festival provides a chance to celebrate the overlooked LGBTQIA+ identities. By providing a safe venue for persons who identify as sexual minorities or as cis heterosexual to share cultural experiences, the festival allows our culture to accept and welcome sexual variety. As the SIPFF accepts films from all over the world, it not only exposes spectators to new narratives and ways of life of the LGBTQIA community, but it also broadens the cultural variety in Korean society. SIPFF is a founding and permanent member of APQFFA: Asia Pacific Queer Film Festival Alliance, an organization of Asia Pacific queer film festivals.

SIPFF launched the Asia Features Competition and Korean Shorts Competition in 2019 to find emerging queer filmmakers and promote the worldwide exchange of Asian queer films. SIPFF completely supports the winning films for worldwide and domestic distribution.
