Director Han Jaerim’s Emergency Declaration, Pre-sold to 169 Countries around the World


 

Emergency Declaration, the aviation disaster film directed by Han Jaerim, recorded pre-sale to 169 countries around the world. In response, Showbox's overseas team said, "Emergency Declaration has received great attention to the extent that overseas buyers made a pre-sale when it was decided to be produced. Foreign distributors, who have been waiting for its release since the premiere at Cannes last year, are also preparing for the release with active promotions, raising expectations for a box office hit abroad." 

 

Emergency Declaration is released in Korea on August 3rd and is preparing for simultaneous release around the world. The release date has been confirmed in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand on August 4, the United States, Canada, Taiwan on August 12, Indonesia on August 18, Australia, etc. soon. "We are very happy to introduce Emergency Declaration to North American audiences at a time when interest in K-content is higher than ever," said Well Go USA, a North American distributor. 

 

Emergency Declaration is the story of a plane that has declared an unconditional landing in the first-ever air terror attack and the people who face the disaster. Director Han Jaerim of The Face Reader and The King directed the film and representative Korean actors participated in the film, including Song Kangho, Lee Byunghun, Jeon Doyeon, Kim Namgil, Kim Sojin, Im Siwan, and Park Haejoon, gaining global recognition. Song Kangho won the Best Actor for Broker at the 75th Festival de Cannes, while Jeon Doyeon is the winner of the Best Actress at the 60th Festival de Cannes for Secret Sunshine. Both are the first records in Korean cinema history. Emergency Declaration was also officially invited to the Out-of-Competition at the 74th Festival de Cannes, and Song Kangho, Lee Byunghun, and Im Siwan stepped on the red carpet. 

 

The aviation disaster movie Emergency Declaration, which depicts the people who witness the unprecedented disaster at 28,000 feet with nowhere to escape, and the people who seek the best way on the ground to land them safely, will be released in Korea on August 3.
