The 26th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival announced the winners of the feature film competition on July 14. The best honor for the feature film competition, ‘Bucheon Choice,’ went to You Won't Be Alone (directed by Goran STOLEVSKI). The juries evaluated, "The film attempted to borrow an alienated and isolated human from a folk tale to add mystery, and through this, the attempt to interpret the fundamentals of human beings in a genre way was outstanding." The Best Director went to Christian TAFDRUP of Speak No Evil. The director said, "My film can be said to be a strange movie that combined various genres, but I got the inspiration from Korean movies." 

The winner of Korean Fantastic, the competition category for Korean films, is Body Parts (directed by Choe Wonkyung, Jeon Byeongdeok, Lee Gwangjin, G'sam, Kim Jangmi, and Wally Seo). The juries said, "The film consists of five episodes, making them into a single story in a clever way. Each episode is a great work as an independent short or as a feature film together." 

The Director Award was won by Park Syeyoung of The Fifth Thoracic Vertebra. The judges said, "Not only directing, but also filming, music, and especially the art of the film are excellent, and the struggling mattress felt like a self-portrait of modern people." The film won three awards, including the Distribution Award and the Korean Fantastic Audience Award.

The winners of the Korean Fantastic Actors Awards are Jung Ryeowon of The Woman in the White Car (directed by Christine Ko) and Seo Hyunwoo of THUNDERBIRD (directed by Lee Jaewon). The juries said, "There are a lot of films that showed the actors' passionate performances this year. Among them, Actor Jung Ryeowon was most standing out, who boldly took off her existing image and was reborn as a character in the film.” Regarding Actor Seo Hyunwoo of THUNDERBIRD, the juries said, "His detailed and restrained acting increased immersion throughout the running time, allowing us to experience the cinematic events together." 

Actor Jung Ryeowon said, "I found out how much I loved acting and expressing my character while filming this work. I'm really grateful for working with the staff who protected and cared for me a lot." Actor Seo Hyunwoo said, "This is the first award I’ve received as an actor. I'm really happy to be able to share this first experience with BIFAN. I will be an actor who is sincere and values relationships." 

The closing ceremony of the 26th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival will be held at 7 p.m. on the 17th at Eoul Madang of Bucheon City Hall to wrap up its 11-day run. After the screening of the closing film New Normal, GV will also be held with Director Jung Bumshik, Singer Yoon Sang, Actor Jung Dongwon, and Ha Dain.
