KOFIC Holds the ‘Celebration for Korean Film Audience Outnumbering 100 Million’

Audience hand printing and free screening of ARCHITECTURE 101
 
 
To celebrate the achievement of Korean film drawing over 100 million viewers in 2012, the Korean Film Council (KOFIC, Chairman: KIM Eui-suk) held the event entitled ‘Korean Films Meet 100 Million Audiences on 2012’ as a token of gratitude to Korean film fans at Deahan Cinema at Chungmuro on December 6th.
 
The event started with the opening composed of hand printing of audiences and cineasts, highlight footage of Korean films that honored the year of 2012 and so on. At the opening, the director IM Kwon-taek, the honorary director of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) KIM Dong-ho, the CEO of Myung Films Jaime SHIM, invited audience of 200, and actors including AHN Sung-ki, CHO Min-soo, UHM Tae-woong and JO Jeong-seok made attendance.
 
After the opening, LEE Yong-Joo’s Architecture 101, which was selected as ‘The Film I Want the Most to Watch Again among The Ones Released in 2012’ at the poll conducted at the official twitter of KOFIC (@kofic_kr) in November, screened for free. There was a conversation session with the audience after screening.
 
CHOI Kwang-shik, minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, greeted the guests saying, “The age of 100 million Korean film audiences is the result of the answer from the audiences with boundless trust and affection to the artistic passion and excruciating creative effort of cineasts.”
