  •

Don Lee, the main character of the movie The Roundup, which set a box office record of 12 million viewers, will move to Hollywood again. He will lead and produce the remake of the film The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil, which was released in 2019. With the remake, Don Lee confirmed his second Hollywood appearance since Marvel's Eternals.

The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil is a crime action about Jang Dongsoo (Don Lee), a gangster boss who was targeted by a murderer but survived, and a homicide detective chasing a serial killer. Along with Actor Don Lee, who reprises his lead role as the gang boss, Actor Kim Muyeol, who starred in On the Line and HONEST CANDIDATE, will play Detective Jung Taesu, while Kim Sungkyu of THE OUTLAWS and Netflix’s Kingdom will play the serial killer K.

The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil was invited to the Midnight Screenings, a non-competitive category of the 72nd Festival de Cannes in 2019, drawing attention from all over the world. At that time, the news of the Hollywood remake of the film was delivered at the same time. However, the project was suspended for a while due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and then restarted this year for the first time in 3 years.

Don Lee reprises the role of the gang boss chasing a murderer in the U.S. remake version. In addition, he participates in production through Gorilla 8 Productions, a production company established in Hollywood, leading the entire project. Balboa Productions, led by Sylvester Stallone, will participate in the production, too. And Paramount Pictures, one of Hollywood's major studios, will be in charge of production and distribution.
