The 3rd edition of the International Film Festival & Awards Macao (IFFAM) has revealed its program, which is set to launch on December 8 and will include a pair of Korean titles: PARK Hoon-jung’s The Witch : Part 1. The Subversion and KWON Man-ki’s Clean Up. In addition, director SONG Il-gon will take part in this year’s IFFAM Project Market.

Released this June, mystery-action film The Witch : Part 1. The Subversion is the latest work from writer-director PARK Hoon-jung, also known for New World (2013) and The Tiger (2015). The film stars sensational newcomer KIM Da-mi as an orphan living in the countryside who begins to exhibit special powers when mysterious strangers from her past begin to show up around her.

Clean Up, one of this year’s graduation projects from the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA) which marks the debut of new director KWON Man-ki, debuted last month in the New Currents competition of the Busan International Film Festival. The film deals with a woman who works as a cleaner whose past comes back to haunt her when a young ex-convict joins her crew.

SONG Il-gon, known for Spider Forest (2004) and The Magicians (2006) and most recently the 2011 BIFF opening film Always and the 2012 documentary Forest of Time, is invited to IFFAM with his project Love Song, a co-production between South Korea and New Zealand which is being produced by Catherine FITZGERALD and Sebastian LEE.

This year’s IFFAM will run from December 8 until 14.
