Busan Asian Film School (AFiS) is recruiting trainees for the 2019 International Film Business Academy. This 6-month course aims at providing practical education to trainees from all over Asia by inviting renowned Asian and Korean professionals of the film industry as well as filmmakers.

“All fellows will get the opportunity to have a private mentoring session with established filmmakers. These sessions will offer knowledge of co-production planning, development, and pitching. The fellows will also be able to participate in the International Co-Producing Project Pitching of Busan International Film Festival in October, so their feature will be able to attract actual investment.” The AFis said. To be eligible for submission, candidates must have a U.N defined ‘Asian’ nationality, but there are no restrictions based on academic qualifications or age. However, Applicants must be competent in English. Tuition fees will be covered by a full scholarship, and dormitory room will be provided during the semesters.

From September 27 to October 25 (KST), anyone interested can submit an online application on the official website (www.afis.ac) and send relevant documents by e-mail (contact@afis.ac). About 20 selectees will be picked through two rounds of screening: portfolios and proposals for a feature-length film, then interview.
