CL, a former member of girl band 2NE1, is going to make her Hollywood debut. She will be playing a killer named Queen in Mile 22 (produced and distributed by STX Entertainment), which is scheduled to hit North American theaters on August 17th. Mile 22 is an upcoming film directed by Peter BERG, who is well known for Hancock, a superhero flick starring Will SMITH, and war film Lone Survivor. This action thriller centers around a war between a top-notch CIA agent and Russian spies. Listed in the credits of the film under her real name Chae-rin LEE, she is playing a killer named Queen. While the film is led by Mark WAHLBERG, John MALKOVICH, and Lauren COHAN, it also features a lot of Asian actors besides CL, such as Iko UWAIS and Raven WYNN. “I was cast in the role of killer Queen by Peter BERG, whom I used to know,” CL said in an interview. “I am also working on my next album in the United States.”
