Film Features Several Scenes Perfect for the Immersive ScreenX Format

YEON Sang-ho’s upcoming film Psychokinesis will be released in ScreenX. The comedy drama is the second live-action movie by TRAIN TO BUSAN director YEON, and revolves around Seok-heon (RYU Seung-ryong), a man who unexpectedly develops supernatural powers and uses them to help his daughter Lu-mi (SHIM Eun-kyoung) who is in danger of losing everything. The highly anticipated film features character actors and actresses such as RYU Seung-ryong, SHIM Eun-kyoung, PARK Jung-min, KIM Min-jae and JUNG Yu-mi. In 2016, YEON’s previous zombie thriller TRAIN TO BUSAN was the fastest-selling film in ScreenX history.

Psychokinesis was adapted for the ScreenX format while in production, which should allow the film to take full advantage of CGV’s immersive film technology. ‘THREE CAM’, interlinked cameras, which can create realistic angles of view and increase the immersion, will reveal how the film’s lead character uses his psychokinesis. ScreenX is said to be a perfect match for the film, as the format has been known to work well visually in theaters for displaying things such as mob scenes and flying scenes. YEON will provide additional scenes, using illustration techniques, never before seen in ScreenX.

REDPETER FILMS and NEW teamed up again for Psychokinesis, after working together on the hit TRAIN TO BUSAN. With new images and imagination, Psychokinesis is due in theaters on January 31st.
