Period Project Is Latest from SUNNY Director KANG Hyoung-chul

Young star DOH Kyung-soo (aka D.O.) has landed a lead role in Swing Kids, the new film by director KANG Hyoung-chul, as confirmed by DOH’s agency SM Entertainment. The film will also feature upcoming actress PARK Hye-su.

Swing Kids concerns a young North Korean tap dancer called ROH Gi-soo against the background of a prisoner of war camp during the Korean War. DOH will play the role of ROH.

A member of the popular Kpop band EXO, DOH has burst onto the acting scene in the last few years, starting off with a supporting role in Cart (2014), before leading the melodrama Unforgettable and then the hit comedy MY ANNOYING BROTHER, both of which came out last year. He will next be seen opposite SHIN Ha-kyun in the thriller Room No. 7 as well the two-part fantasy blockbuster Along with the Gods, the first part of which bows at the end of the year.

His co-star PARK was seen last year in the fantasy romance Will You Be There? as well as several TV shows.

Swing Kids will be KANG’s fourth work, following the box office smashes Scandal Makers (2008), Sunny (2011) and Tazza-The Hidden Card (2014).

Production is scheduled to kick off in September, once casting has been completed.
