OUR SUNHI to Close 4th FICUNAM

HONG Sangsoo’s Latest in Mexico
The second of HONG Sangsoo’s 2013 offerings, Our Sunhi has been invited to close the 4th Festival Internacional de Cine UNAM (FICUNAM) which kicks off Thursday, February 27th. UNAM is the National Autonomous University of Mexico, located in the country’s capital.
Our Sunhi kicked off its festival route back in August of last year, when it picked up the Silver Leopard for Best Director at the Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland. The film has appeared at over 20 festivals, including the Toronto, Vancouver and Busan International Film Festivals. Our Sunhi also proved successful at home where it garnered almost 70,000 viewers on limited release.
In the film, JUNG Ju-Mi stars as Sun-hi, a girl who returns to her college campus in Seoul to get a recommendation from her former professor as she applies to pursue graduate studies in America. While back on campus she runs into an old boyfriend and another professor. All three men are taken in by her charm but Sunhi, at a crossroads in her life, proves hard to read. The film also stars JUNG Jae-young, LEE Sun-kyun and KIM Sang-joong.
HONG’s film is the only Korean work in this year’s FICUNAM. The 4th Festival Internacional de Cine Unam will wind up on March 9th in Mexico City.
