En Route to Africa and Europe After Successful Busan Debut
LEE Don-ku’s Fatal has officially been invited to the Berlin International Film Festival. Fatal, which debuted in the ‘New Currents’ section of the 17th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), was invited to the ‘Panorama’ section of the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival, which is going to take place in February 7th to 17th next year.
The ‘Panorama’ section is an official program of the festival, where nearly 20 films with both commercial and artistic value as well as unique style are selected among new films from new or globally renowned directors. In recent years, The Actresses directed by E J-yong, The Unjust directed by RYOO Seung-wan, My Way directed by KANG Je-kyu and From Seoul to Varanasi directed by JEON Kyu-hwan, have been invited there.
Besides the Berlin International Film Festival, Fatal was also invited to the competition section of the 12th International Film Festival of Marrakech, held in Morocco between November 30th and December 8th. The so-called ‘Cannes Film Festival in Africa’, this festival is well known for famous guests and high quality programs. In 2010, PARK Jung-bum’s The Journals of Musan won the Grand Prix at the festival.
