KOFIC Held 2017 Business Information Session

Korean Film Council (KOFIC) held its 2017 business information session on March 29th. At the session in the Digital Media City, Seoul, KOFIC’s International Promotion Team explained and was questioned about incentive programs for development support of international co-production and location shooting of foreign films.

Development support of international co-production is to support projects that have international competitiveness and to lead vitalizing international co-productions. KOFIC’s one-stop support will include planning and development of a project, script translation, mentoring and business meeting abroad.

Incentive for international co-production is to pursuit diversification of financing methods through international co-productions and to expand global production network in overseas market for Korean films. Eligible for this program are theatrical films longer than 70 minutes of running time.

KOFIC’s Location Incentive project is for feature films, TV series and documentaries made by foreign productions, where more than 80% of the production cost is from foreign capital. The limit of support is up to USD 1.53 million per film.

Meanwhile, this session presented the Korean Film Scenario Market, production support for independent, low-budget, art and family films and animation support programs as well as international business.
