A widow of an aristocratic family falls in love with a servant. After she gives birth to a baby fathered by the servant, her in-laws kick him and the baby out. As the years pass, the baby grows up to become a man and comes to see his mother. But she cannot acknowledge that he is his son because it is a rule of the society that widows must keep celibacy.
