Diverse films filled the diversity chart in the 3rd week of February, with films from Korea, Japan, and North America, as well as animation, documentary and features. Miyazaki Hayao’s Spirited Away kept the first place for two weeks in a row. After gaining 52,954 more admissions last week, the cumulative ticket sales are now up to 138,242. Since the Lunar New Year is around the corner, more families are anticipated to attend the screenings of the animation, and surpassing 15,000 will be a matter of time.

 

Other than Spirited Away, the rest of the chart had movements throughout. Nominated for the Academy awards in five categories, Foxcatcher collected 7,000 audiences last week and reached 19,987. The film is based on the John du Pont murder case in the US. Released on the 12th, God Help the Girl climbed up to 6th place in just four days after its release. This feature by Stuart Murdoch is a music film set in Scotland. Following Begin Again’s huge success, many look to see if God Help the Girl will carry the legacy of hit music films in Korea. The film's current ticket count is at 2,937. Lastly, a domestic film came into the top ten chart. A Matter of Interpretation starring YU Jun-sang reached 2,382 admissions and is sitting at 9th place.
