  • “That’s what PARK Chan-wook is like!”

  • Tremendous responses to the trailer of PARK Chan-wook’s Stoker 
     


    The trailer of Stoker, PARK Chan-wook’s Hollywood debut film, has been released. Having created a lot of news since the production process, it collected tremendous reactions from Korean and foreign film fans as soon as the trailer was released. People has started bearing expectations to meet another master piece saying, “That’s what he is like!”
    In the trailer that was uploaded to iTunes’ website (trailers.apple.com/trailers), India STOKER (Mia Wasikowska), who had lost father in an accident and her mother Evelyn STOKER (Nicole Kidman) had a mysterious guest who introduced himself as Uncle Charlie (Matthew Goode). As the story developed, the rest of the trailer was filled up with amazing beauty of pictures and tense rhythm.
    Immediately the trailer came out, the news has spread all over the world through SNS, film information websites, and film related communities, which shows how big the expectations from people are. Korean press media also left favorable comments after watching the trailer saying, “As PARK has already made films with unique materials and splendid images such as Old Boy and Thirst, his new film in Hollywood makes up bear expectations.” (Review Star) and “Although it was a 2-minute-long trailer, the tension from the images is more intense than anything else.” (Money Today)
    Reactions from abroad are also hopeful. Foreign press media reported, “Characters of PARK’s film have upgraded from those in films he made in Korea.” “The unique atmosphere of the film overwhelms. Viewers should recognize it!” Stoker is currently under post-production and it will meet its viewers at theaters in early 2013.
