A subsidiary of CJ CGV, CJ 4DPLEX has expanded into Australian and African 4DX movie market during CinemaCon 2017 which was held in Las Vegas from March 27th to 30th. CJ 4DPLEX announced that it “expanded to Oceania partnering with Australia’s Village Cinemas and signed a new contract with Angola’s largest cinema chain Cinemax during CinemaCon 2017.” So CGV’s 4DX will be operated in all six continents. 

4DPLEX signed a contract to open its 4DX screens within this year with Australia’s Village Cinemas on March 28th. Village Cinemas is a cinema operator with 223 screens at 23 theaters nationwide. The first 4DX will be set at Village Cinemas in Century City Walk mall in Melbourne. It is under construction for opening in the first half of this year. In addition, the company made Angola the second country on the continent to have a 4DX theater after South Africa. Cinemax has 31 screens at 5 theaters in Angola. 4DPLEX will gradually open three 4DX theaters in Luanda, the capital city of Angola by 2020. 

Meanwhile, CJ 4DPLEX unveiled new seat motions - Sway&Twist on display during CinemaCon this year. It is added to two new movements, right-and-left and rotation. It also gained attention to submit the Bike Type among three kinds of 4DX VR sports attraction units (Kayak type, Board Type and Bike Type).
