Director HONG Sang-soo's next upcoming film is titled Woman on the Beach (Haebyeonui Yeo-in). The film portrays a filmmaker at a beach resort off-season who gets romantically involved with two women. The leading actors are: KO Hyun-jung, KIM Seung-woo and SONG Seon-mi. HONG's films are regulars at film festivals worldwide and Woman on the Beach won't be an exception, invited already to the Toronto International Film Festival and the New York Film Festival (NYFF). The 31st Toronto International Film Festival will be held from September 7 to 16, while the 44th New York Film Festival from September 29 until October 15, 2006. HONG Sang-soo is a highly regarded director who is awarded at several film festivals. His awarded debut feature The Day a Pig Fell into the Well immediately gained him critical acclaim. HONG explores human relationships in a complex pattern of relatedness and repetition. Usually the male psychology is central, but in his latest Woman on the Beach women roles are more prominent.
