  • Paramount Pictures to Establish Theme Park in Incheon
  • by KIM Su-bin /  Jan 11, 2019
  • Construction Starting in First Half of 2019, Targeting June 2022 Opening

There will be a Paramount Pictures-branded theme park in Incheon, Korea. This park will be part of the large resort complex that is currently being developed in the vicinity of the international airport. Variety reported that a deal has been signed between the American film studio Paramount Pictures and the US-based casino and resort management company Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) to install a theme park.

Korea’s largest integrated resort, the Inspire Integrated Entertainment Resort has been established in the Sector III of the International Business Complex, in Incheon. MGE has invested USD 2.4 billion (KRW 2.7 trillion) in the resort that will eventually cover 1,110 acres (ap. 445 m2). Besides the theme park, the resort will comprise entertainment-themed stores, a five-star hotel, a multipurpose venue for concerts and sports events with a capacity of 15,000 people, a conference and convention space, and a casino. The theme park will offer attractions based on Paramount’s franchises such as Mission: Impossible. Construction of the Inspire Resort is slated to start in the first half of the year, with the opening expected in June 2022.
