Eligible for Documentary Projects of over 50 mins by Asian Director or Producer
Docs Port Incheon, the practical business market for documentary filmmakers, is calling for submissions for the Asia Documentary Pitch (A-Pitch) this year.
To be eligible for submission, documentaries should be of at least 50 minutes in length, be in the pre-production or production stage, and have a non-Korean, Asian director or producer. Additionally, if the project is an international co-production, more than 30% of its budget must come from the Asian region.
The submission period will be from July 10th (Mon.) to 28th (Fri.), 2017. Applicants are required to download forms from the Docs Port Incheon’s website (
www.idocs-port.org) and to upload completed forms with a trailer or a sizzle reel. The finalists will be provided additional training programs and be shown in the Doc Lab and Pitch. “Detailed information about the awards, supports and funds will be announced soon.” the office said.
Meanwhile, this year’s Docs Port Incheon confirmed the main schedule from November 2nd to 5th, 2017. This year, it has increased its event from three days to four days and expanded its own supporting budget which was trimmed last year. “Documentary foundations will fund and support film productions while domestic and foreign broadcasting companies will actively collaborate to invest or buy televising rights. In addition, we will strengthen education program, Doc Lab which provides mentoring programs with the best international and domestic specialists in each field of planning, organizing and editing for the development and pitching of the selected projects.” the office said. There will also be the Documentary Showcases to screen completed documentary projects supported by the Docs Port Incheon.
