The Seoul Independent Film Festival (SIFF), the biggest event for Korean independent filmmakers since 1975, issued a press release on June 20th to announce its call for entry schedule for the festival’s 43rd edition. 

This year, SIFF will select projects by directors who either have Korean nationality (residing in Korea or overseas) or are foreigners who have been residing in Korea for at least a year or longer. The application will be available from August 1st to 28th, 2017. “Any independent film completed after September 2016, on any subject, in any type or genre and regardless of content length, can be submitted.” SIFF said. Two steps are needed for this year’s competition. First, download the application form from the official website and upload the completed form on online. Then, applicants are required to mail a DVD screener for selection consideration to the office or send a video file via email (prog@siff.kr). For those sending hard copies for submission, the DVDs can be mailed to: Program Team, Seoul Independent Film Festival, 2nd floor, Mallijaeyet-gil 65-6, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea (Postal Code: 04025).

This year’s SIFF will take place for nine days from Thursday November 30th to Friday December 8th.
