Filming on Comedy-Thriller Sequel Begins

Bedevilled (2010) star SEO Young-hee has confirmed that she will team up with KWON Sang-woo and SUNG Dong-il once again in the upcoming sequel to the 2015 Chuseok hit THE ACCIDENTAL DETECTIVE. E.oni of MISSING (2016) is handling the director’s reigns while TV actress SON Dam-bi is set to make her big screen debut.

Picking up from the first installment, THE ACCIDENTAL DETECTIVE 2 will continue to track the exploits of cold case blogger KANG Dae-man (KWON Sang-woo) and veteran detective NOH Tae-soo (SUNG Dong-il), the unlikely pair who team up to solve cases together. The original welcomed 2.63 million viewers (USD 18.21 million) to theaters.

SEO, who returns as KANG’s wife last appeared in the first THE ACCIDENTAL DETECTIVE and SHIN Su-won’s Cannes-invited Madonna in 2015. She is most well known to foreign audiences for her part in JANG Cheol-soo’s revenge thriller Bedevilled.

Meanwhile, SON is know for her work on the small screen in shows such as Mrs. Cop 2 and Light and Shadows, for which she won the Excellent Actress prize from the 2012 MBC Drama Awards.

Shooting for The Accidental Detective 2, which will be distributed by CJ Entertainment, is currently underway. Prior to MISSING, director E.oni was responsible for …ing (2003) and Love Exposure (2007).
