  • Dexter Studios Signs MOU with Digic Pictures

    Giants of the film industry and the computer gaming industry are teaming up. Korean VFX house Dexter Studios has signed an MOU with global game cinematic studios Digic Pictures, global game cinematic to establish a joint venture. 

    Dexter Studios has reinforced its position in the Chinese film industry by providing VFX works on a lot of Chinese films such as Journey to the West: Demon Chapter, Kung-Fu Yoga and The Monkey King series. The company has provided visual effects for three of the ten top-grossing films of all-time at the Chinese box office. Recently, at the 36th Hong Kong Film Awards, Dexter Studios was recognized internationally as having the best visual techniques when they received the Best VFX Award for The Monkey King the Legend Begins. The company previously provided visual effects for Mr. Go (2013) and their upcoming production project Along with the Gods will be released at the end of this year. 

    Meanwhile, global game cinematic studio Digic Pictures, based in Hungary, has produced gaming visual effects for such well known titles as League of Legends, Final Fantasy and Assassin’s Creed. The company is especially known for its world-class digital human and animation techniques and for creating realistic characters. KIM Yong-hwa, the director of Dexter Studios, plans to make inroads in Hollywood and the European film market through this MOU contract.
